Lessons from Alexander the Great

Today, I’m bringing you a message that might change your perspective on what it truly means to live rich.
Forget the flashy cars, the massive homes, or that pile of tech gadgets collecting dust in your drawer.
Let's talk about a wealth that can’t be quantified by your bank balance…
The time spent with the people you love.
And what better way to kick this off than with a story about one of the most powerful men in history:
Alexander the Great…
The Man Who Had Everything
By age 30, Alexander the Great had created one of the largest empires in the ancient world, stretching from Greece to northwestern India.
On his deathbed, Alexander’s last wishes carried a profound message that resonates even to this day…
Alexander’s Surprising Last Wishes
Legend has it that he made three astonishing requests as he lay dying in Babylon at the age of 32.
First, he wanted his hands to hang outside his coffin, empty, for all to see that he left the world just as he entered it: empty-handed.
Despite conquering worlds and accumulating unimaginable wealth, he couldn't take any of it with him.
Second, he desired that the road to his burial site be strewn with the treasures he had amassed.
Gold, silver, precious jewels—all laid out to showcase that these riches meant nothing in the end.
Lastly, he asked for his doctors to carry his coffin.
This was to signify that despite their skills, they couldn’t defeat the ultimate equaliser…
Death.
The Lesson Behind The Legend
While there’s debate about the historical accuracy of these requests, the message they carry is crystal clear…
Material wealth and achievements can’t conquer mortality.
They are temporary joys in the grand timeline of our existence.
Living the Real Rich Life
So, what’s the takeaway for us in the modern hustle?
It’s simple but transformative…
Invest in what truly matters.
Spend time with your loved ones, make memories, laugh until your belly hurts, and cherish those quiet moments together.
This connection, this love, it’s the real treasure.
It’s what fills life with joy and meaning.
Don’t wait for “one day” or “someday” because, let’s face it, we all have a limited number of days.
Why waste them chasing things that don’t last?
The richest person isn’t the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least to be happy.
Surround yourself with people who make your heart sing, do things that make you forget to check your phone, and live like every day is a precious gift.
Because it is!
