RM40: Built for Men Over 40 Who Refuse to Slow Down

Most fitness plans weren’t made for men in their 40s. They’re either too intense, too generic, or completely ignore the reality of getting older.

That’s why I built RM40, a 16-week transformation programme designed exclusively for men over 40 who want to:

 Rebuild strength and fitness
 Move better and stay pain-free
 Master their nutrition without extremes
 Maintain results for life

If you’re tired of quick fixes and ready for a smarter, sustainable approach to getting in the best shape of your life, this is it!

Midlife Reset: 6 Steps to Build the Best Version of You.

Stuck in a Rut? Good.

That Means Your Wake-Up Call Just Arrived!

Before you start eyeing up a sports car or pricing one-way tickets to Bali, let’s have a real talk.

This isn’t a crisis.

It’s an opportunity.

You can let midlife drift past you or grab it by the scruff and turn it into the best, most powerful chapter yet.

Here’s how to make that happen…

Step 1: Say Goodbye to Your Old Self

Life is like updating the software on your phone.

The old version? It worked fine. It did the job.

But if you refuse to update, you start lagging behind.

Your interests, values, and priorities are shifting. Stop clinging to who you used to be and embrace who you're becoming..

Someone wiser, stronger, and more focused!

Action Plan:

Write down three beliefs, habits, or goals you’ve outgrown. Acknowledge them, thank them, and let them go.

Step 2: Audit Your Life with Brutal Honesty

If your life feels off, it’s time for a hard reset.

Grab a pen and paper. It’s time to cut the dead weight.

  • People: Who energises you? Who drains you like an emotional parasite?

  • Habits: Are weekend binges, endless scrolling, or negative self-talk keeping you stuck?

  • Routine: How many hours disappear into pointless distractions?

The reality? Most of your problems aren’t random, they’re habits you’ve tolerated for far too long.

Action Plan:

Write down the top three ‘weeds’ (negative habits or relationships) you need to remove. Then commit to cutting them starting today.

Step 3: Rebuild Your Body to Strengthen Your Mind

Now that you've cleared the weeds, it's time to reinforce the foundation—starting with your body.

Because let's be real: If you feel like crap, everything else suffers.

  • Move daily, even just a 15-minute walk.

  • Eat nutrient-dense meals 80% of the time (yes, pizza and beer still have a seat at the table in moderation).

  • Prioritise sleep. Stop lying to yourself that five hours is enough.

You wouldn’t build a house on sand and expect it to last. Your body is that foundation. Strengthen it.

Action Plan:

Pick one physical habit you’ll start today (e.g., morning stretches, daily walks, meal prep). Then do it.

Step 4: Own Your Future, Because No One Else Will

The harsh truth? No one is coming to save you.

Not your partner.

Not your boss.

Not some future, more ‘motivated’ version of yourself.

If you don’t steer the ship, you drift. And drifting never leads anywhere but regret..

Storms will come, but your choices determine whether you navigate through them or let them sink you.

Action Plan:

Identify one area of your life where you’re waiting for someone else to fix things. Take immediate action to regain control.

Step 5: Stop Believing You’ve Missed Your Chance

Think you're too late? Absolute nonsense.

  • Samuel Walton started Walmart at 44.

  • Colonel Sanders franchised KFC at 65.

  • Stan Lee created Spider-Man at 40.

The only reason you think you’ve run out of time is because you keep telling yourself that story. Change it.

Your best days aren’t behind you. They’re ahead.

Action Plan:

Write down one goal or dream you think you're ‘too old’ for. Then list three small steps to start moving towards it.

Step 6: Set Goals That Excite (and Scare) You

If your life feels flat, your goals aren’t big enough.

Comfort doesn’t create growth.

Challenge does.

You're playing too small if you haven’t had that gut-wrenching feeling that you’ve bitten off more than you can chew in the last month.

Set goals that make you nervous and excited at the same time. That’s the sweet spot for transformation.

Action Plan:

Define one big, exciting goal for the next 90 days. Then tell at least one person—so you’re accountable.

TL/DR

Step #1: Let go of who you were.
Step #2: Weed out negative influences.
Step #3: Fix your body to upgrade your mind.
Step #4: Take full ownership of your life.
Step #5: Realise your best days start now.
Step #6: Set ambitious goals that genuinely excite you.

Pick one step.

Act on it today.

Then watch how the rest of your life follows.

I hope you enjoyed this week’s Knowledge Bomb.

See you next week for another instalment.
