Welcome to Part Eleven of my 12-part “Super Harsh Truth Series” for this festive season!

Over the next 12 days, leading right up to New Year’s Eve, I’ll be dropping daily truth bombs to challenge your mindset, spark action, and help you gear up for an incredible 2025.

My goal?

To give you at least one game-changing insight each day that you can take into the new year, laying the groundwork for a year you’ll indeed be proud of!

Let’s dive into #11: You’re not special until you make yourself special.

#11 - You’re not special until you make yourself special.

You’re not special.

At least, not yet.

Potential doesn’t make you special.

Talent doesn’t make you special.

Even big dreams don’t make you special.

What makes you special is taking action, following through, and doing what most people won’t.

Everyone has potential, but potential means nothing if it isn’t realised.

It’s cheap.

It’s common.

The difference between you and the people you admire isn’t that they were “born different” or had some magic advantage.

It’s that they showed up, put in the work, and turned their potential into something real.

Why you’re not special yet:

  1. Dreams are meaningless without action. Everybody has big ideas, but very few people execute them.

  2. Your talent isn’t rare. There’s always someone smarter, stronger, or more gifted than you. What sets you apart is your willingness to outwork them.

  3. Effort beats entitlement. The world doesn’t care about what you think you deserve—it rewards what you earn.

The truth about “special” people:

They aren’t inherently better than you.

They just did the work.

They made sacrifices, stayed consistent, and kept going when everyone else gave up.

They didn’t wait for someone to hand them a crown

They built their own throne.

Here’s what makes someone special:

  • Consistency. Showing up every day, even when it’s hard.

  • Discipline. Doing the work, even when they don’t feel like it.

  • Resilience. Failing, learning, and getting back up—over and over again.

Ask yourself:

  • Are you relying on talent or action to stand out?

  • How much of your “potential” is still sitting unused?

  • Are you waiting for recognition, or are you working to deserve it?

You don’t “become” special by accident.

You don’t wake up one day and find that the world notices you.

You become special when you decide to do what most people won’t

Work relentlessly, push past fear, and turn excuses into effort.

It’s not easy, but that’s exactly why so few people do it and why those who do stand out.

The reality is simple:

  • Everyone has potential, but only the few who take action matter.

  • Everyone has talent, but only the ones who outwork it succeed.

  • Everyone has dreams, but only the ones who sacrifice for them achieve them.

Stop waiting to feel special.

Start earning it!

The world isn’t going to hand you a spotlight.

You have to build it, brick by brick, through action, grit, and perseverance.

Being special isn’t a birthright

It’s a choice.

Make that choice today.

You’re not special until you make yourself special.

So get to work.

I hope you enjoyed this special edition of my Knowledge Bomb Newsletter.

See you tomorrow for the final Super Harsh Truth!
