100 Tips to Live Your Best Life (Part Two)
#51 Never blame
Blame is easy but unproductive. it shifts power away from you and leaves you stuck. Taking responsibility, even in challenging situations, puts you back in control. It’s a powerful step toward learning, growing, and creating the change you want in your life.
#52 Never complain
Complaining locks you in a cycle of negativity, highlighting problems instead of solutions. It wastes energy and pushes others away. By refusing to complain, you reclaim your power, focus on what you can control, and create positive change in your life.
#53 Learn to trust
Trust is the key to stronger relationships and personal growth. Without it, you build walls that isolate you and hold you back. Trusting others and yourself creates deeper connections, reduces stress, and unlocks opportunities you never thought possible.
#54 Understand Growth and Comfort
Growth and comfort cannot coexist. Staying comfortable keeps you stuck, while real progress demands overcoming discomfort and facing challenges head-on. Embracing the unease builds resilience, drives transformation, and leads to the growth you’re capable of achieving.
#55 Be ok with being disliked.
Seeking everyone’s approval is a losing game. It waters down your authenticity and drains your energy. Being disliked proves you stand for something, live true to your values, and focus on what truly matters. Not everyone will like you, and that’s not just okay; it’s necessary.
#56 Nothing worth having is easy
Anything truly valuable, such as success, love, health, or growth, requires effort, persistence, and sacrifice. The harder you work for it, the more rewarding it becomes.
#57 It’s never too late to change your life
Your age or circumstances don’t limit you. You have the power to rewrite your story. The past doesn’t define your future; your choices today do. Change takes courage, but it is always possible, and the best time to begin is right now.
#58 Teach others
Sharing your knowledge deepens your own understanding and leaves a lasting impact on others. Teaching isn’t just about giving; it’s about learning, connecting, and growing together. When you help others succeed, you elevate yourself in the process.
#59 Give your time to people who value it
Your time is your most precious resource. Spend it wisely. Invest in relationships with people who appreciate and respect your presence.
#60 Reflect often
Reflection turns experiences into lessons and intentions into progress. It builds clarity, self-awareness, and alignment with your goals. Make it a habit for continuous growth.
#61 Brush your teeth
A clean, healthy smile radiates confidence. Brush twice daily, floss to keep gums healthy, and make your smile your best asset.
#62 Learn about “Big Rocks”
Big rocks are your non-negotiables. The key priorities that bring meaning and drive progress in your life. They include moments like quality time with loved ones, rejuvenating breaks, and impactful actions that fuel personal and professional growth. When you prioritise these essentials first, everything else naturally falls into place.
#63 Learn something new
Learning something new sharpens your mind, boosts confidence, and adds excitement to life. Whether it’s a skill, hobby, or subject, stepping outside your comfort zone expands your perspective and unlocks unexpected opportunities.
#64 Do hard things
Taking on hard things builds resilience, confidence, and character. It’s the essence of my favourite quote and the title of my new book—Hard Stuff, Easy Life. The tougher the challenge you tackle now, the easier and more rewarding your life becomes. Remember: hard stuff, easy life; easy stuff, hard life.
#65 Leave things better than you found them
Whether it’s a room, a relationship, or the world around you, strive to improve what you touch. Leaving things better than you found them creates a ripple effect of positivity and growth. It’s a small act that leaves a lasting impact.
#66 Have values and standards
Your values shape who you are, and your standards determine how you live. They guide your choices, influence relationships, and set the foundation for a life of integrity, respect, and purpose. Hold them firm to create a meaningful life.
#67 Hug and kiss more
Hugs and kisses aren’t just comforting; they strengthen bonds, lift your mood, and deepen connections. Physical affection releases feel-good hormones like oxytocin, reminding us of the love and care that enrich our relationships.
#68 Don’t argue with pigeons
Engaging in pointless arguments only wastes your energy and peace of mind. As the saying goes, “Arguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon, it’ll just knock over the pieces, shit on the board, and strut around like it won.”
#69 Listen to your elders
Elders have years of experience and hard-earned wisdom. Their stories and advice can save you from mistakes and guide you toward better choices. Listen closely—you might uncover insights that transform your life.
#70 Make others look good
Lifting others up doesn’t dim your light; it strengthens relationships and creates a culture of mutual respect. Celebrate their achievements, highlight their strengths, and share credit freely. Making others look good reflects your confidence and builds a network of trust and support.
#71 This too shall pass
Remember, no matter how difficult or overwhelming a moment feels, it’s temporary. Challenges, pain, and setbacks all fade with time. Embracing “this too shall pass” gives you strength in hard times and gratitude in good times because nothing lasts forever.
#72 Understand Mental Models
Mental models are tools for clearer thinking and more intelligent decisions. Concepts like opportunity cost, compounding, and first principles simplify complexity and provide valuable insights. Learning them sharpens your mind and enhances your ability to tackle life’s challenges.
#73 Learn to respond instead of react
Reacting is impulsive and emotional, while responding is calm and intentional. Choosing to respond helps you stay in control, make better decisions, and handle challenges with clarity and composure, improving your relationships and outcomes.
#74 Write notes to people
A handwritten note carries a personal touch that texts and emails can’t match. Whether it’s a thank-you, encouragement, or just a kind thought, notes create meaningful connections and show genuine care. It’s a small gesture with a big impact, so don’t underestimate its power.
#75 Remember your track record
You’ve survived every hard time you’ve faced, and your success rate is 100%. Reminding yourself of this builds resilience and confidence, proving you’re stronger and more capable than you often realise. Trust your ability to overcome; history is on your side.
#76 Empty the bucket list
Life is too short to let your bucket list gather dust. Start ticking off those dreams, big or small. Living fully means turning “someday” into today and creating memories you’ll cherish forever.
#77 Light the candle
That beautiful Yankee Candle isn’t meant to sit on a shelf; it’s meant to be lit. Stop saving things for “special occasions” that never come. Life is happening now, so use the fancy candle, wear the outfit, drink the good wine, and celebrate today.
#78 It’s only stuff
Material things are just that…things. Don’t let them weigh you down or distract you from what truly matters: time with family, friends, loved ones, and meaningful experiences. Stuff can be replaced; memories and connections can’t.
#79 Walk a mile in others shoes
Empathy begins with understanding. Take a moment to see life from someone else’s perspective—their struggles, choices, and feelings. This will deepen your compassion, strengthen relationships, and remind you that everyone has their own journey.
#80 Go all in
Half-hearted effort leads to half-hearted results. If something truly matters to you, commit fully. Going all in doesn’t just increase your chances of success—it shows you what you’re capable of when you give your absolute best.
#81 It’s ok to be single
Being single isn’t a problem to fix.. it’s an opportunity to grow, explore, and build a life you love on your terms. Embrace this time to focus on yourself, your passions, and your goals. Happiness doesn’t depend on a relationship; it starts with you.
#82 Apologies and Forgiveness
A genuine apology is the foundation of healing, and forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. Apologies aren’t about being right; they’re about repairing trust. Forgiveness doesn’t erase the past; it frees you from carrying its weight.
#83 F**k the finish line “enjoy the journey”
Life isn’t about rushing to the end but embracing the journey. Chasing the finish line blinds you to the growth, joy, and experiences along the way. Please slow down, savour the process, and let the journey itself be the reward.
#84 Learn to be “Lucky”
Luck isn’t random; it’s created through preparation, action, and a positive mindset. Show up, take risks, and stay open to opportunities. The harder you work and the more intentional you are, the “luckier” you become.
#85 Never compare
Comparison is the thief of joy. Your journey is unique, and measuring it against someone else’s only distracts you from your progress. Focus on being better than you were yesterday.
#86 Enjoy the obstacles
Obstacles aren’t roadblocks; they’re stepping stones for growth. Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn, adapt, and strengthen yourself. The most challenging paths often lead to the most rewarding destinations.
#87 Find good teachers
A great teacher can change the trajectory of your life. Seek mentors who challenge, inspire, and guide you with their wisdom and experience. Good teachers don’t just provide answers; they show you how to think, grow, and achieve your full potential.
#88 Love yourself
Your relationship with yourself sets the tone for everything else in your life. Loving yourself means embracing your flaws, celebrating your strengths, and prioritising your well-being. When you treat yourself with kindness and respect, you create a foundation for happiness and fulfilment.
#89 Stop protecting; start connecting
Guarding yourself too much keeps you safe but also isolated. True fulfilment comes from connection—allowing yourself to be seen, heard, and understood. Let down your walls, take the risk, and build deeper, meaningful relationships.
#90 - 10 years vs 1 year of experience
Proper growth comes from continuous learning, not just time served. Many people stop learning after their first year, repeating the same knowledge for a decade and calling it “10 years of experience.” Don’t fall into this trap; stay curious, keep evolving, and make every year count as real progress.
#91 Don’t follow the crowd
The crowd often takes the path of least resistance, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right one for you. Trust your instincts, carve your path, and embrace the courage to stand apart.
#92 Make a good first impression
You only get one chance to make a first impression, and it sets the tone for how others see you. A solid first impression opens doors, builds trust, and creates lasting connections. Make it count.
#93 Find your “foul weather friends”
True friends aren’t just there for the good times; they’re the ones who stand by you when life gets tough. These “foul weather friends” are your support system in storms, offering strength, honesty, and loyalty. Cherish them; they’re rare and invaluable.
#94 lower your expectations
High expectations can lead to constant disappointment and frustration. Lowering them doesn’t mean settling; it means embracing reality and finding gratitude in what is.
#95 Work on your weaknesses
Your weaknesses aren’t limits; they’re growth opportunities. Addressing them builds resilience, expands your abilities, and strengthens you. Lean into the discomfort, and you’ll transform vulnerabilities into strengths.
#96 The 33% rule
Legendary UFC Fighter Frank Shamrock’s 33% rule is a game-changer: spend one-third of your time teaching those behind you to solidify your knowledge, one-third with peers to sharpen and challenge each other, and one-third with those ahead of you to push your limits and inspire growth. Balance these relationships, and you’ll constantly grow.
#97 Always be a beginner
A beginner’s mindset keeps you curious, open, and humble. When you see the world through fresh eyes, you stay eager to learn and willing to grow. Even as you master skills, approaching life as a perpetual beginner ensures you never stop improving or discovering new possibilities. Stay curious, stay teachable.
#98 Don’t beat yourself up
We’re all our own worst critics, but self-blame and negativity only hold you back. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding you’d offer a friend. Mistakes are lessons, not life sentences.
#99 Enjoy rejection
Rejection isn’t a failure; it’s feedback. Every “no” brings you closer to a “yes” and teaches resilience, clarity, and growth. Instead of fearing rejection, embrace it as a sign you’re taking risks and stepping outside your comfort zone.
#100 Don’t burn bridges
The world is smaller than you think, and burned bridges have a way of returning to haunt you. Even in difficult situations, part ways with grace and respect. Maintaining relationships, even loosely, opens doors for future opportunities and unexpected connections.
