I'm buzzing to share with you a thought that's been tickling my brain, especially since it dances so well with my brand-new book, Hard Stuff, Easy Life.

Ever heard this gem from George S. Patton Jr?

“He who sweats more in training bleeds less in battle.”

It's a cracker!

It's got me pondering the hard we're signing up for in the grand ol' game of life.

You've got two choices in this world:

  1. The tough slog that moulds you into a better version of yourself.

  2. Or, the drag that comes from dodging the tough stuff only to end up in a pickle.

Inspired by this, I've cooked up a little acronym for SWEATS, so you know how to hustle in peacetime and glide through war…

S = Schedule Your Day

End your day on a high by jotting down the Big Five - the top tasks you want to conquer tomorrow. Kick off your day by tackling this head-on. Whether they're inked in your planner or digitally noted, make sure they're done.

This is your blueprint for a day well spent.

W = Wake Up Early

You don't need to beat the sun (unless you're into that sort of thing), but an early rise sets you up for success.

It's the secret sauce to nabbing extra hours for your passions and goals.

E = Exercise Regularly

Not just for the insta-worthy physique but for the mind zing and zest it brings to your day.

It's the fuel for your productivity engine.

A = Affirm Your Goals

Mirror pep-talks? Not my cup of tea. But knowing your north star and checking in with your goals? Absolute gold.

Keep your eyes on the prize with daily, weekly, and monthly goal affirmations.

T = Take Breaks

Embrace the art of the pause. Short breaks are the unsung heroes in the saga of growth.

For me, it's weekend family time, and every Thursday, I spend the afternoon at a spa, where I read, think, swim, and have sauna/cold shower sessions.

S = Study New Skills

The world doesn't stand still, and nor should you. Learning keeps your edge sharp and your path sprinkled with opportunities.

Dedicate time each week to learning or polishing a skill.

Embody these SWEATS, and you're not just training for life's battles but setting the stage for victories.

Remember, "he who S.W.E.A.T.S in training bleeds less in the battle of life.
